How to Choose a Shipping Cooler Size

Measure the shipment as it will actually be packed. The bare item dimensions are a starting point; protective bags, refrigerants and cushioning also need space inside the cooler.

Use inside dimensions

Cooler listings in this catalog show usable inside dimensions in inches. Check length, width and height together, including the orientation in which the item can be packed. Do not use an outside carton measurement as the available packing space.

Allow space for the other components

  • Measure the fully packed contents, including any primary protective packaging.
  • Allow additional room for cold packs and cushioning.
  • Check that the lid can close with the planned arrangement.
  • Review the complete kit contents and the quantity supplied per case.

The catalog’s size finder can compare the dimensions you enter against listed cooler dimensions, with rotation allowed. You still need to allow space for refrigerants and test the actual arrangement; a dimensional match is not a temperature-performance validation.

Compare small, medium and large kits

The catalog groups kits into small, medium and large shipping coolers. Use those groups to browse, then select by the exact dimensions on the product page.

Understand case quantities

One case can contain different numbers of complete kits depending on the product. Compare the required number of shipments with the stated kits per case before preparing a bulk inquiry. Cold packs are separate items.

Prepare a useful quotation request

Include the preferred product or inside dimensions, the required quantity and the delivery destination. Describe any fit or packaging questions so the selected configuration and delivery costs can be confirmed.
